What is a blind teaser?

A blind teaser is an anonymous document used to introduce a business to potential buyers without revealing the seller's identity. Its purpose is to generate initial interest while protecting confidentiality and encouraging qualified buyers to take the next step.

What a blind teaser contains

A typical blind teaser provides enough information to assess the opportunity without identifying the company:

• Business description — sector, service lines, language pairs and geographies
• Size indicators — revenue range, headcount and client profile
• Financial headline — revenue and/or EBITDA range
• Key investment highlights — the characteristics that make the business attractive to potential buyers

Why anonymity matters

Sellers rarely want employees, clients or competitors to know that they are considering a sale. A blind teaser allows an advisor to test market interest with a broad group of potential buyers while protecting the seller's identity and limiting unnecessary speculation.

Only buyers who have signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and passed the initial qualification stage receive more detailed information, including the identity of the company.
